not approved

my insurance company cigna denied my first letter. now what? I do not know what to do. Could you please emial me at [email protected] if any of you have any ideas. I would sure appreciate it. I am 292 pounds, 5 ft 8in and 44.4 BMI. Thanks. I have headaches, (migraines), depression, back pain etc.

Hi Jennifer, I was looking around some of the state forums yesterday and I believe it was Arizona that had several posts about cigna insurance and how difficult they are. They even have a website dedicated to it and if I understood right to help people learn how to hopefully get approved. You might want to check the state boards and see if you can find that website. I definitely would pursue getting them to rethink their decision. Good luck to you. Tamara

You must appeal their decision...It took me 2 appeals, but I won...First, you will need to find out the reason for the denial...If it is because you are missing the 2-26wk diet documentation, then you must get it...CIGNA is very difficult to deal with-I'm not going to lie to you-but depending on your case, they could be beatable!! So, start the process of the appeal...Get the info you need from CIGNA and go from there!!! Lots of luck!

Check out the Yahoo Group that deals strictly with Cigna insurance. I think it is called squeekywheels?? They have some great information on how to appeal your denial. Samples of appeal letters, etc. Cigna is probably the most difficult insurance company to deal with. Don't give up! Fight, fight, fight! Good Luck, Terry

The yahoo group is called "cignassqueakywheels" great place for info, support, etc.... and its all ppl dealing with who are or have been dealing with CIGNA. What ever you do dont give up, fights this company. Im hiring an attorney to fight my last appeal and I feel its my only option since its my last appeal Im not taking any chances. Best of luck to you.
