United Healthcare Approvals???

I'm insured through United Healthcare PPO, has anyone had experience with this provider? I weigh 256, and am 5'5" with hypertension. Do you think they'll give me a problem for coverage? I've never gone through a doctor prescribed diet plan. Any advice would help. Thanks.

Angelica, I have unitedhealthcare ppo and just got an approval from them yesterday!! They did not require a diet history or any information from me other than what came from my surgeon. I was very lucky. as far as if they will cover it or not depends upon if your employer has an exclusion in your policy or not. the best thing to do is call the number on the back of your card and ask them specifically if there is an exclusion for gastric bypass. hope this helps and good luck jennifer
