I was writing to see if someone could tell me what is a good way to come up with $3,000 if you have not so good credit and you cant get a loan what other options are there. I was approved by both of my insurances for the wls and before I can have the surgery I have to Have $3,000 UP FRONT TO JOIN THE PROGRAM. The program is for weight loss class and membership to a health club for three months and nutritional counceling etc. My Doctor requires this before the surgery will happen. Have you thought about selling stuff on EBay? Probably all of us have things laying around the house collecting dust that could be turned into cash.

Hi Cynthia,
I also was choosing a doctor that required a lot of up front money....and after further research...I found that there are other doctors that are just as good that will do the surgery with much less up front expenses...so I changed doctors. Do your research...read, read, and read. Go to each doctors web site and read patient profiles, some will tell you what they paid...if not email people and ask them. The doctor I wanted to use wanted $800 up front for his assistant....$300 for pshy exam...I was like geeeeeesh...I dont have that kind of money...so I started doing some research and discovered that every doctor was different on what they required...hope this helps you.
