Aetna Insurance - Mystic Seers From - Afar They See All!

Well I received a call from Winona Hospital on Friday Aug. 30. Seems Aetna denied my pre-certification claim. Their reason: They felt I did not put enough effort into my last diet plan. I was medically supervised w/Adipex and the Atkins diet. So their case reviewers obviously have powers and abilities far beyond us mere mortals. They see every time we try to walk, everything we eat, every problem we have. How else can they make such a claim unless they see it with their own eyes? Am I sarcastic? You bet! I, like everybody else on this website needs this surgery. The insurance company makes it so difficult to get approved by making their critera so specific it is hard to measure up. Christopher - I, too, have Aetna and am just starting the process of gathering all the data to turn in to the case reviewers (hope I can find that silver platter to submit my paperwork on.) If you'll go to the main Association for wls website, under "your journey" there are samples of appeal letters. Hope this will help and you'll get your approval. Also, under "Search", just type in "Aetna" and it pulls up pre and post-ops with all kinds of helpful comments. These people are really a wealth of information. Carly - who has Aetna H.M.O.
