Hi Ken, I am so sorry to hear about your troubles and the fact that you may have to self pay. I know of a new website that has some information on insurance issues and also self pay. I hope this helps and just know I 'll be praying for you. www.geocities.com/middletnobese Lizette

Ken, Visit the south of the border forum. Look for Dr. Aguirre. Many of us "self pays" are going to Dr. Aguirre for our surgery. He is a great surgeon with an outstanding reputation. Hope that helps!!

Ken, Go to www.careentree.com . They are not an insurance company, but they do the same thing as an ins. co. in that they are able to get you the discounted rates that ins. cos. pay. For instance, what may be a $25,000 surgery as self-pay, may only be about $8,000 with the Care Entree. It's pretty cool if you are looking at self-pay. You can even get on there and look to see if your current doc. is a provider. Let me give you the email address of one of their representatives who happens to be fixing to have WLS herself. Her name is Laura Humes. Her email is [email protected] . She is a tremendous help. Best of luck to you. There are some other options BEFORE you look at heading to Mexico. Debbie V.
