HELP! Must ask Co. for exception to policy.
I received a message today from a very nice woman explaining some things about a contract exclusion, and that it would be up to the employeer to make an exception to the policy in order for me to have coverage for this surgery.
I'm having a hard time even getting started with the letter that I'm wanting to write to them for this request.
Has anybody had to do this before? Have any suggestions? Please Help!!!

Tanya....I am in the exact same boat that you are in. In fact, I'm turning in my letter of appeal and all of my records to my employer TODAY!!! UGH!! I'm gonna have a small ulcer before this is all said and done! Anyway, I will share with you what I have done and hope that it will help you in some way. First, I wrote a letter to my employer stating statistics about obesity, listing all of my comorbidities, and including a brief emotional plea. I also included copies of everything that was sent to the insurance company, including a letter of medical necessity from my surgeon, as well as from 3 other doctors. If you will send me your email address, I will send you a copy of my letter for you to kind of see what I did. I'll do whatever I can to help you. Have a great day!! Debbie V. [email protected]
