Home burned down...Insurance does not want to pay?

Before my house burned down I had this insurance company which I was canceling and I had another one already insured with. Now my house burned down in June. I was still insured with my old insurance company, becuase June was the last month I had payed. Now I was wondering is it possible for both insurance companies to pay since i was insured by both? It is now August and I have not recivied any money from any of the companies. They have delayed it trying to nail something one me, like it is my fault. The house Burned down because a High intensity light was on all night and must have fell not sure what exactly caused it, that is just my guess? . If you have any anwsers to what should be done, and if I am being cheated fomr these insurance companies. I will appreciat it dearly..Thank you
