The "Insurance Gulag" begins!!!!

Last night, 7/28, I had my first consultation. First of all, there are not enough surgeons in my area of good background who are interested in doing this surgery. Secondly, while I was in consultation, the doctor came right out and told me I most likely would not be approved by the medical group within the insurance group, HMO Illinois Blue Cross Blue Shield. When I asked more questions, I got the feeling due to the limited funds the groups within HMO have to work with, they feel this surgery is a drain on their monthly group resources funds. It made me so angry. I feel it is my God-given right to enjoy the pursuit of good health and I highly resent this type of money driven physician who tells me in so many words that I am looking for a "Rolls Royce" with only "Chevrolet" money!! I need this surgery......the obesity negatives are starting to kill me slowly. Help!
