Obesity Surgery Not Covered

My insurance company (Beechstreet) refuses to pay for my gastric surgery. I found out that my company became self insured, and they are calling the "shots". Beechstreet is only the administrator. They don't consider it a necessity. Since they refuse to pay.I am trying to pay for it myself. I having it done at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia,Pa. Can you tell me what the average cost of a 3day stay in the hospital? One day in intensive care. Thank You. sueejv

Sue, I suggest that you call Temple University Hospital and ask them if they can give you a quote. You might even try to negotiate a rate, barring unlikely complications. I would venture to guess that getting them to give you a quote may be a task. You may also want to speak to your Doctor and see if he can help you with this task. Good luck!
