Cigna

Cigna is the worse company to deal with. They want 2 26 week diets documented (monthy weigh ins) and one has to be in the last 12 months. Plus a BMI of 40 for at least one year or 35 to 39 with co-morbid conditions. And my understanding is if the co-morbid condition is not controlable by medication. At least that's how I read it. I'm now on my second level appeal. They said to send pictures too if I wanted to...why the hell should I have to send pictures of my fat ass. They have all of my medical history plus family history...I really think they are too nosey......How much is too much info..and do they need all of this info for one operation...they would not ask this crap if I had to have a triple bypass. I think we need to go to capitol hill and get the government on the back of this company as they are out of wack. And when you call cigna for information...they don't know...or pass you off to some other idiot in the company line and when I asked to speak to a supervisor I was told no........flat out no!!!! Really this company has problems......and they are discriminating against us obese people!!!!

ME TOO...HERE'S MY PROBLEM THAT I JUST POSTED... 7/24/03..,I have just been denied by CIGNA because they said I am missing a document about being on a medically supervised diet for the past 12 mos...So, I have left a msg so hopefully my dr can help me out, and my surgeon's office is going to see what they can do...CIGNA is absolutely impossible!!!! I could have had this letter months ago, and they waited until now-5 days before I am supposed to have surgery...I am so angry that my hands are actually trembling!!! They have totally screwed up my scheduling-even my office has hired a temp for the time that I'm supposed to be out---I'm at my wit's end!!!!!! So, now I have to start the appeal process...I'm so bummed out!!!!
