BCBS of Michigan Community Blue PPO

They say the open rny is fully covered, the Laproscopic need preapproval meeting certain guidelines. I called and verified my Dr. with them Dr. Hanks. I had my initial consultation and then received a bill for $350 that BC denied because it does not cover anything for obesity or weight related. I was told this by a Blue Cross rep even though when I called I was told because he is one of their participating doctors I would only pay my $10 copay. Now I am waiting for the preapproval for Laproscopic. Has anyone had this happen to them? What can I do anything? How can they have a connection with weigh****cher, cover the surgery and not cover Dr. appoints that list weight or obesity as the code.
