Star Administrative/Starbridge

My former employer offered a new benefit, Starbridge short-term disability insurance, for the 2002 benefit year. I purchased this insurance in the event of an emergency. What a mistake! I had my RNY and gall bladder surgery in April of 2002 and they are still causing me problems. They are notorious for losing documents, denying claims, lying about receiving info, stalling and basically, finding any way to not pay me money. They have made promises, like "you should have your check in two weeks" then send out a denial letter claiming preexisting conditions! I have submitted the same information to them on 5 separate occasions and they have either lost or claim to have never recieved it! My state can't do anything to help me and my former employer could care less. DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU LIKE TO THROW MONEY AWAY. I have been waiting for 14 months and still no income replacement.
