Approval Received

I just received approval for surgery, however, the dates of services are 12/31/03 to 1/3/04. Does this mean I will have to wait until December? Or could it be these are the dates that the surgeon's office gave the insurance company and maybe I have a chance of having the procedure done earlier. I hate to think I have to wait six more months. Has this happen to anyone else?
