Priority Health
Well, I've got the answer to my appeal for the RNY. It was denied. I don't fit their guidelines. They offered me 20 weeks in a weight managment program. Of course, they will pay only 1/2 of the weekly/monthly fee and all the supplements would be out of pocket expenses. I am very discouraged. All of my other diets or doctor supervised diet in the past do not fit with their quidelines. They did not have a "behaviorist". I was in Weigh****chers for almost 2 years and my doctor was monitoring my progress, but that wasn't good enough.
I have a hard time justifying spending an additional $ 2000 on a weight managment program that will fail in the long run. I have IBS and the thought of a liquid diet for 4 months is not a pleasing one. Other liquid diets I have tried have given me uncontrollable diahirra.
And because my insurance(my primary) has denied me, my husband's insurance won't ok me either. My only choice, other than wasting my money on the wwp, is to change insurance and hope they don't change their 'Obesity guidelines' before I can get approved.
