Kaiser help needed
I am a Kaiser member with a non-cooperative Dr. Other than changing Dr.'s which I plan on trying, any suggestions on how to succeed with Kaiser.... I'm 52 with a very high BMI.....
Thanks in advance for any help and feel free to email me at my [email protected]

Hi,
I too am a Kaiser member who, when I asked my doctor to refer me for weight loss surgery, was denied. The doctor smiled smugly at me and told that I might think about "accepting myself.' I told him that he might think about "f---ing himself," switched doctors and was immediately referred by my new kaiser doctor to their bariatric program.
Moral of the story: Just switch doctors. As long as you meet the requirements - 40 bmi + or 35 bmi with co-morbidities most of them will refer you without a hassle. I just happened to have a guy who thought he knew me better than I knew myself.
Good luck!
