Can anyone tell me if they were approved by walmart insurance for gastric bypass or gastric sleeve? I have type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, asthma, acid reflux, and high elevated liver enzymes. Please let me know and tell me how you did it if you have gotten approved. Thanks!

Even if anyone responds to this, I am not sure how much it will help you, as all plans are different, as are all policies.  You really need to look at the policy YOU have to see if it is covered.  If WLS is not excluded, and you fit the criteria, then you will be covered.  Those are pretty big ifs, however, and you should probably call your insurance company to get the most accurate information.

Good luck!

I don't think this is what they were asking. I am sure they know what their insurance will cover, the way I read ino it is seeing if they possibly would pay if appealed.

Hm, I still don't read it that way, but it doesn't really matter, as each person's policy is different and whether WalMart insurance will pay on original submission or appeal is dependent on each person's benefits/plans they have.

Wls is a direct exclusion under walmart insurance, but due to life threatening things you have you can appeal that and then they HAVE to cover it. You have to get ahold of the person in charge of the insurance (ask your market human resource manager for that information) good luck and dont give up! It will be covered!
