no insurance coverage

Hi!  I'm new to this site and new to the idea of WLS and would appreciate any experienced advice.  Just found out today there is a contractural exclusion for WLS w/ my insurance (BCBS of AL.)  What are my options other than self-pay?  Is it crazy to consider changing insurance carriers - dropping my employer provided coverage for an individual plan that does cover the surgery.  Are there doable self-pay options out there for a lower-than-average-income person?    
Does anyone have any successful ideas/experiences to share?

You will have a very hard time finding an individual insurance policy that will cover WLS.  Carecredit/BLIS are like credit cards that can be used to cover costs, but you may find the interest rates not so favorable.

Others here would suggest Mexico.  I suggest you check out the Mexico board.
