POST-Op RNY Health Insurance Denial

Hi,

Anyone out there have any  suggestions on what to do for appealing a denial of an individual plan of health insurane because of a gastric bypass?   I don't understand why this is a reason to deny coverage when one becomes health from this procedure. It's completely assinine! 

It makes no sense that these companies offer and pay for these procedures and then they don't cover a patient in the future for having had it.

I am filing and appeal and filing a complaint with GA insurance commissioner.  Georgia is terribly pro-insurance so I don't have much faith with them.


Any advice would be appreciated.

People have been trying to obtain medical ins after WLS for years. Ins co's always win. :o( They are a business and can pretty well deny anyone they want to. Life ins is exactly the same.
