Hi I am trying to find out if anyone has had good luck with getting their insurance to pay for any plastic surgery? I have Premera BC FEP (112 plan) or its also called Anthem BC of Virginia. I called and they said if it was medically necessary. Just want to be prepared when I go for it. I am a year and a half out, have lost 127 pounds and have been stable the last 6 months.
Thanks for any information received.

It depends on which procedures you are interested in and why you feel you need them medically.

Are you talking breast work? Tummy tuck? Arm/thigh work?

I am mostly worried about the tummy but if they covered anything else I would be happy. Thanks

What is the medical necessity? Do you have an extensive history of rashes needing medical care with photographs from your MD to back it up? Is the medical care effective?
