Switching from Cigna to Aetna

I had my surgery in Dec 2006 and it was covered under Cigna insurance. I recently moved and the new insurance we are looking at picking up through my husbands company is an Aetna EPO plan. I called and they said they cover the surgery, and I would just have to get the dr to send in my past info and they would handle it... So, I am slightly worried that does that mean I have to get re-approved through Aetna? Is there any possibility they might deny me? I only need follow up appointments and band adjustments, no additional surgery right now...
my company has Cigna, but I like the Aetna plan better (cost wise) and if I needed to we could go with my company's Cigna plan, but would rather take the Aetna plan. Just worried about being covered is all. Anyone have any insight?? TIA

As long as WLS benefits are not excluded you should be good to go.

I think you would have to get reapproved for any surgery, I don't think precerts transfer from one company to another.
As far as benefits, those are strictly determined by the plan.
Good luck!

The OP isn't looking for surgery, she's looking for aftercare. ;o)

I switched from Cigna to Aetna after surgery and have not had a problem with aftercare. Its the revision part that is giving me a hard time....
