Oh Boy!  I hope you have better luck than me!  It took about 4 weeks to hear back initially (denied).  I sent off my appeal paperwork and heard back within 15 days (denied due to my surgeon not being a covered provider --- he IS a covered provider until June 31.)  So, sent off my second appeal -- it has now been 6 weeks and  I am still waiting!
I TRUELY hope things go better for you!!!!

United approved me within a week after submission.

My problem now is trying to get information on the upfront out of pocket costs I will need to pay on my surgery date May 20.

It only took a week for me also.  They have been super easy to deal with.

I am soooo glad you asked.  I just started the whol process.  I am afraid they will deny me.  We hav the Choice Plus plan.  Yet under Proceedures and Treatment, surgial and non surgical are not covered to treat obesity.   I know that United Healthcare does offer this coverage but if it is not covered in your group, what do you do?  Has anyone had to go to the HR deprtment at their job?  I am sitting on pins and needles.

it took them about 9 days to approve me. if you havent already picked out a surgeons office, ask them if they have an insurance coordinator that you can call whenever you have a question. They will be your support when it comes to turning in paper work and what EXACTLY you need to give them.

Yep I've picked out a surgeon, Dr.Scott at the Harbin Clinic in Rome.   I just fear the United Healthcare is going to say, Nope.  I hope everything goes well for you and thank you for the information.
