What I mean is if I get approved today but I can t have the surgery till june is that normal or do you have a time limit after approval. I hope this makes sense. I just dont want then to say your approved but you have to have the surgery within 30 days or something like that. Thanks

It's definitely not within 30 days because in both my case, and my daughter's case who is having surgery in may it will be more that 30 days.  It may be more like 6-12 months.  I just asked the insurance specialist at my surgeon's office this same question today because my son is in the process of getting approval.  We haven't submitted yet becuase he is having a jaw surgery in June and that will be a 6-8 week recovery time.  I don't want her to get the approval too soon and then have it 'expire'.  She said she thought it was 6 months, but she would do some checking.

So, I'll let you know if I get an answer from her!

Check your approval letter - most times it will state the length of time (most often I've seen 90 days).
