Hi everyone! I am wondering if anyone has had expereince with Cigna and a lower BMI. Mine is 35, I also have sleep apnea. I noticed on the website for Cigna that you only have to have one comorbodity, instead of 2, like allot of other insurances.
Does anyone know if this may be covered as a comorbidity? I tried calling Cigna directlym but they weren't exactly helpful.
Thanks-Jess

Jess,
Cigna approved me with in a couple of days.  I had a BMI of 36 and sleep apnea.  Cigna seems to be great as long as you do the 6 month diet and exercise.   Good luck

I have to say CIGNA is a thorn in my side as they required to use certain bariatric centers or there is no coverage.

a BMI (Body Mass Index) 35–39.9 with at least one clinically significant comorbidity, including but not limited to, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, coronary artery disease, or pulmonary hypertension

I would say that sleep apnea is certainly a co morbid condition just depends on how severe.  Are you currently using a CPAP or a BIPAP?
