VSG - does FedBCBS basic approve it?

 Hi,

I posted on other forums too - just wondered if VSG is approved with my insurance - Fed Employee BCBS basic option.  My BMI at doctors was 41 today.  They will submit to insurance for approval closer to surgery date - surgeon requires a 3 month waiting period.

You should have then submit a requestion with all clinical documentation... I have seen them approve VSG

Mine was not approved under Federal BCBS. My BMI was 40.9, and in my official denial, the reason stated was that they only do that procedure for patients with a BMI over 50.
