I was given a surgery date and I got so excited!!.... BUT I found out my insurance is still pending approval!!!! Why did they give me a date? Well they said my insurance needed a date to start the process, it has been 8 days since it has been submitted to my insurance company and i think that it is taking FOREVER!! What if i get denied i am so scared becuase i got so excited when i got my date....

Should you qualify?  Do you have a BMI of 40 or greater?  Does your ins require a 5 year history of a 40BMI or higher?  Are you required to do a supervised diet and if so, did you?  Have you verified you have WLS benefits?  Is the surgery type you want covered on your plan?

If you meet all the requirements all you can do is wait it out.  Some ins co's do want a DOS (date of service) so they can see if you should be covered by their company for that DOS.  It could take 30 days for them to finally approve you.

Hang in there, as hard as it is you just have to wait it out. :o/

They did TODAY!! I was so happy to get my approval i kept calling the dr office and my insurance company everyday. There was a small dealy do to snow so the lady that was handling my case at the insurance company wasnt in. But today I got the call of approval for both my insurance and my short term disability! So i had a pretty good day. I start my two week liquid diet on friday!
