*** I initially posted this a while ago, but thought I'd put it back up for those who ae seeking approval this year:

I know, gathering all the required info can seem overwhelming. I did Aetna's 3 month regimen and was approved upon first submission. It you PM me, I'll be glad to give you a breakdown of what I did, as well as copies of the letters I drafted and my PCP signed. Good wishes for everyone - I know what a life changing decision this is!

VSG on 05/11/10

I will be submitting my info to my insurance within a month. What type of surgery did you get approved for? I want to get the VSG and haven't found anyone that has gotten approved for it yet. I have Aetna PPO and March is the last month in which I will be complete for my 3 month regimen.

VSG on 05/12/10

Aetna does not cover VSG yet, they consider it an experimental procedure.

Hi Rosie!

I don't know if you remember me, but you helped me A YEAR AGO!!! I also did the 3 month multi disciplinary program for Aetna and was approved THANKS TO YOU and the sample letters and examples you provided me!! Here it is, a year later and I have lost 151 lbs (9 lbs away from my personal goal of 140.) When I saw your post I just wanted to say HI again and THANK YOU again for helping me (and others) know the ropes of Aetna's requirements.

My daughter just went today for her last visit with the dietician and PCP to complete her 3 month regimen!! We will be submitting for approval within the next few days. Cross your fingers for a quick approval.

Thanks again, and bless you for helping others! I also have passed along samples of what is needed to others because I know how much it meant to me when you did that for me.
