Anthem Blue Cross of CA?

Does anyone have any experience with Anthem BLue Cross of California HMO and getting approved for banding surgery? ANy words of wisdom for me as I begin this process?

Hi i have anhem blue cross and they don't decide, your HMO decides.  If your HMO approves then Anthem will pay,  I'm going thru this right now but i want the sleeve,  i was told by my dr office that it was denied because it was investigational,  so when i called my HMO they said it is still being reviewed.  Now they have sent it to Anthem to see if it will be paid for by them,  i think (i'm hoping, that they are starting to change their stance on the sleeve) It also depends on if it is included in your plan,  which is based on what your employer has included in the plan  Good luck  J
