Well I feel like I am on a rollercoaster ride. One week i am soooooo optimistic about getting my surgery, the next something happens to knock my spirits. Well My BMI is now 41.3, and I came up with high blood pressure(I think from all this worrying). I have 4 yrs documented of me going to a weight loss management dr. and I have another set of documents with another weight loss doctor where it is documented for 10 months. I didn't really have a PCP because Aetna is my insurance and doesn't require one. I have now picked a PCP and I think he is willing to write me the recommendation letter. Has anyone ever had this sort of issue and still gotten their surgery approved? Please give me some confidence because I am severely lacking it!!!!!!!

Hi, Melisa. Sorry you are feeling so stressed out. I know exactly what you're going through, though. I had Aetna and didn't have a PCP before going forward with the surgery either. I just started with one doctor and followed through using her to document what i needed for the 3 month regimen. It shouldn't be a problem. ~Good Luck~

Thanks Bama.Mom. yeah I feel a bit more optimistic. my new PCP wrote an ecellent letter. I also came up with sleep apnea in my sleep study. so i think my possibilities of getting approved are great. good luck to you too
