X-Post Vitamins, Protein and HSA's

My insurance changed somewhat this year and now I have an HSA. I saw that the IRS excludes nutritional supplements from being able to be paid for with HSA funds, but since it is medically necessary for vitamins, protein etc, is there a way to legally use the HSA funds? Anyone know? Thanks in Advance.
