Hi all,
I am new here but I have some questions. I have a 'Medicare Advantage' plan thru Senior Partners/Bravo Health. They cover wls but not the VSG that I need. I take meds and even the surgeon says that the VSG is the better option for me, but my insurance still deems it experimental...but Medicare ok's the VSG.
Does my ins. co HAVE to cover it 1) because wls has been deemed medically necessary & 2) since Medicare ok's this type of surgery and they are a 'Medicare' based plan?

No, they do not HAVE to cover anything. :o( But!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starting 1/1/10 the sleeve is no longer investigational and it MIGHT be covered soon enough!
