My mom told me the other day that in Blue Cross Blue Shield of TN there was a law called "wendy's law" or something like that where it said that if you can't go to school and have to take a year off, you will still be covered. ??? Anyone ever heard of anything like that? Or know how I could find something like that??

Couldn't you just call BCBS and ask them?

The federal law is referred to as Michelle's Law, but if a state has a more generous law, it is not pre-empted.  The problem is the law is not et in effect for all policies, but goes into affect on renewals - It sounds like TN may have a version of the law.  You may try calling the department of insurance in your state if you cannot get an answer from your customer service area.
