self pay and deductables

Ok get this I self paid 20K for my RNY and now my insurance company says I have to meet my deductible before they will cover my physical therapy for something else.

Too bad insurance companies don't care about what you have paid for without bothering them, huh?  Unfortunately, they don't care how much or even that you self paid...until they are asked to cover something that may or may not be related. 

AM having the same problem with getting the insurance approved. Are you located in TN.
