Question about BCBS of AL.....

Hi all,

My question is pretty simple;  Has anyone out there had BCBS of AL, and could you please tell me how your expiernce was? Is is hard to get approved through them, and could you give me pointers to make my approval process easier? I have been trying to do some research and I am having a hard time finding anything about it on this site. Thanks so much.....

HI, my company has BCBS of AL.  A guy who works with us, his wife had the lap band and did not have to much trouble getting her approval.  Some silly things they want but really was not difficult for her.   I am in the 6 month waiting period and should be around March when I will need the approval.  Just make sure you do or have what they ask for.  You have to see a dr. for 6 months and weigh in and follow either their diet.  Do not miss a month or it all starts over.  Also, BCBS will not pay for those visits.  Funny they require you to have 6 months visits but will not pay anything on them.  Roughly cost you $50-$55 a month.  Read your policy of call them.
