Approved for the sleeve
Just wanted to put this out there in case it helps anyone:
got approved after the initial submission for the sleeve on Carefirst BCBS ("BluePreferred"). They were very quick to approve, and I didn't even have 100% documentation on some of my comorbidities and past diets. They assigned a case manager as soon as the surgeon's office submitted and she was very nice and helpful.
I think the trick for this insurance is having a high enough BMI. Mine is 56.9. I think the surgeon's office was a little surprised, they've tried to get sleeves approved before through Carefirst without success, but I think having the high BMI is what clinched the deal.
