Deductable problem

After going through my 6 month weight management I finally got my insurance approval.  Only problem is that the doctor can't schedule my surgery until January 20.  We have a high deductable plan...the deductable is about $5000.  This will kick back in after the first of the year.  I don't think we can afford to pay that in a lump sum and I don't know if my doctor's office will work out payments with us. After all, he isn't hurting for patients.
Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
TIA

I would start by asking the surgeon's office if they will take payments.  If not, you might look into one of those medical credit cards like Care Credit.

do you have a flexible medical spending plan at work you can use?   put the 5k in it and the doc gets paid right away and you  just have a portion taken out of each pay check.
