x post Losing Insurance Oct. 15

Now that I have had my RNY, I can't find anybody to cover me for health insurance.  I have tried a few places, and most underwritters won't cover me.  If anybody has found an insurance company that will cover you after RNY, please let me know.

My COBRA ends the 15th of this month...and I would so like to remain insured!!!

BTW... I am only 3 months out!

I am 4 months out from lapband and am losing my insurance on Dec 31.
I understand exactly what you are going through.

It just sucks!!!!  I have a very good agent working in seeing what she can do.  She really would like to see some of this reform we have heard so much about come to fruition.  She said I am the perfect case for why we need reform.  But she assured me she would see what  she could do and is even taking some time talking with the underwriters as I have great health...just the surgery issue.  I will let you know what happens.  If you find yourself in the same boat as me and I get covered...I will pass her name and number to you!!  Good luck to you!!!

Wow this is scary..you lose weight, get healthy, and can't get insurance.  Somehow this does not seem right.  I know there can be increased costs from complications but the flip side is you would have been even more unhealthy obese.
