Approved!

I have Anthem BCBS and my info was submitted on September 21st with approval given on September 23rd!

I am completely over the moon!!! I started my journey to WLS back in 2007 but found out that our insurance had an air-tight exclusion and I could not have the surgery. In December of 2008 my husband lost his job of 18 years and we were without health insurance until June 0f 2009. On June 8th our new coverage kicked in and I discovered that WLS was a covered benefit. I was excited & hopefull and began completing the requirements for approval submission. Our plan covered the surgery but required an 18 month physician supervised diet plan. But obviously that requirement has been waived and I am stunned and amazed and SO ECSTATIC!!!!

My pre-op class is scheduled for October 28th and I'll get my surgery date then. Thanks for all of the help you all have given me here on this board.

I know how you feel I got me approval on 9/25 and the feeling is out of the world.

I have Cigna but it looks like both our insurance company's are approving in 2 days. We will be on the loosing bench very soon.
