I am so excited.  I just had my 5th month appointment with my PCP and I go back in two weeks to do all my lab work then three weeks to finish off my 6 month supervised diet.

My PCP said she would have my letter for insurance ready to send for my last visit so I should be submitting to insurance in the next month.  I have everything else done and am ready to go!!!

Wish me luck.

Isn't it just nerve racking?  I don't think I was this nervous about moving out of my parents house, getting married,  or having my first child.  This is just killing me.

I have been jumping through hoops for almost a year now and I can't believe I am almost there.  I put the pressure on my PCP to have the letter ready and waiting so I could fax it to my surgeon personally.

I did not want to take the chance of my PCP taking months to write the final letter.  I have talked to my insurance company at least 4 times this week, just going over what I need and comparing it to what I have in place - even going so far as to checking on plastic surgery, if needed after the weight loss.  (I have a tremendous fear of loose skin)

I have a checklist ready for what to take to the hospital and have already started putting together a recipe book for after surgery.

In the last year I have quit smoking, quit drinking, cut out soda, started exercising, and went to a low fat low carb diet.  (But did not loose any weight because I am insulin resistant)

I know I am anal and way too controlling but I think I have everything ready to go and do not want any surprises before the surgery. Surprises after - I'm okay with - but not before.

I have BCBSMN and I just hope they don't take months to approve!

Wishing you lots of Luck
I know how you feel.  The Surgeon sent my paperwork in on 9/23 and I called Cigna today and it is Approved.  I can believe it and now I have to get a Upper GI and bloodwork and I can get my surgery date.
