Ok so I just read that Cigna requires proof of an exercise program. This is not an issue because I have been doing this since Feb. The issue is, I do not want to the place that I work out ot know I am having WLS done. That being said, does my Ins comp contact them? I'm guessing no because of HIPPA, but then again maybe they are allowed to because Im submitting my stuff. I dont know.
I'm going to also post this on the main board, just freaking out because if Cigna can contact the place then I dont want to submit the bill/receipts but they require proof... I'd have to figure something else out
ughhhh the stress....

I just got an approval from Cigna after only 2 days after submitting.  I did not have to provide proof of an "exercise program"... but my diet documentation for the past 6 months noted that I was told to do aerobic exercises at each visit.  That was the extent of my "program".  They would not accept anything else as proof, just what my doctor had ordered in writing.

But to answer your question, your insurance company will not contact wherever you work out at, especially since it has most likely no bearing on your approval.  They won't care about receipts or anything like that, just what your doctor orders and any logs you may keep.  I was specifically told this by my insurance coordinator who works with Cigna on a daily basis.  What will work is a daily log of your exercises for the past 6 months. Your insurance company can't just dig around looking for information on you wherever they please, especially without signed consent.

Thanks :****ep telling myself they cannot dig, but I'm always stressing out over small stuff :)

I was sent a spreed sheet that someone used and am going to fill it out with my classes put in as the work out and tomorrow I'm going to call and ask if they need any paper work from the martial arts school. After reading on here and the main board I feel that I'm going to be just fine :)

If you dint mind me asking, how was Cigna... I am worried because my BMI goes under 40 during this diet and then goes back up. It was because at the start of this I was not planning on doing WLS and I stopped drinking and eating before weigh ins because I wanted to show I was successful...
