Needing help - Financing surgery

Have decided recently for gatric bypass but just found out that I am denied through Anthem for coverage. Am disappointed but self finance would be an ok option for me. I am extremely concerned though in the case of a major complication due to surgery. I am assuming that since I am not covered, any result of my gastric bypass would be on my dime. Any thoughts of wisdom that you could help me with would be appreciated. Thanks
