DS & BCBCIL/Consultation

Hello,

I had my consult on yesterday at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

I am very impressed with Dr. Alverdy and his medical staff.  (with the exception to the front desk folks).

Dr. A stated that he would recommend the DS. I told him that my insurance stated that DS was a experimental procedure. He then stated he would  strongly suggest DS. I am not sure what that would mean in the insurance world.

I am now waiting on the staff as a whole to accept me into the program. In talking to him I dont forsee this begin a problem.


Thoughts?

 

I have BCBS and  my surgeon has recommended the VSG for me. Due to helath reasons this is the only procedure that I am physically able to have. I am currently in the Level 2 part of my appeal process.
I have 4 specialists plus my GP who have written letters of recommendation and support and the insurance company is still trying to deny me. I'm not trying to dicsourage you at all and I sincerely hope that you have an easier time that I am having. I just wanted you to know what you could possibly be up against. If I can help in anyway please feel free to PM me. If you have more sucess than I have had maybe we can help eachother.
