I have 2 questions:1) If there is national health insurance, do you think WLS will be excluded?
2) Even if WLS is excluded, do you think it will also exclude any complications that are a result of WLS?
For me, the concern over the exclusion of complications from coverage is what makes me hesitate to take advantage of inexpensive surgery in Mexico.

I don't think that it will be excluded, it seems to becoming rather mainstream now. Just last week I saw a local news channel wich did a report on the positive long term effects.
More then likely, it will become more mainstreamed and we would need to wait for the surgery. Im hoping to get my approval before the changes though.
I thought the whole point of this nationalized healthcare crap was to make sure that EVERY American had access to affordable coverage? Despite pre-existings, etc?
I can't imagine it'd work any differently than Medicare or Medicaid..... other than it'd be available to everyone, not just the people 65+, disabled, or within their income brackets.
As much as I don't like the idea of nationalized healthcare.... I might warm up to it a little if it means I'd have QUALITY, affordable coverage. I just don't see how they're gonna make it happen, lol.

Currently, you are more likely to be approved if you HAVE federally-financed coverage.
The VA does wls.
Medicare covers wls.
Medicaid covers wls.
TriCare covers SOME wls.
Federal employees' insurance covers wls.
It's the PRIVATE insurance companies we have to fight.
