Can someone interpret this?

I finally got a hard copy of what the criteria for an approval is. There is one part I want someone to clarify for me. It reads: Failure to lose wight significantly or regaining of weight despite compliance with a multidisciplinary nonsurgical program including low- or very low-calorie diet, supervised exercise, behavior modification, and support, with possible medication.

Just what am I supposed to be doing? I'm going to have to go to a nutritionist for six months, I see a psychiatrist and therapist and take medication along with that, in which behavior modification is used.

I'm not sure what sort of support they mean or what the supervised exercise is all about.

Can someone give me their take on that paragraph?

thanks

I think they want to know you have tried everything within your power to lose weight (i.e. followed a plan) and that it's not working for you.

Does your surgeon's office have a weight management center with nutrionists that will put you on a plan for 6 months and monitor your diet monthly?  If so, that would cover the multidisciplinary nonsurgical program and the supervised diet requirement..

It sounds like they are going to require you follow and exercise plan as well.  I would suggest talking to the nutrionist about that.  Maybe they can monitor that for you since you'll have to keep a log of everything you eat and how much you exercise for the six month period.
