I posted this to the VSG forum but thought others might be interested in it also:

Well Cigna just published their revised policy for bariatric surgery effective June 15, 2009.  It still excludes the VSG.  For those of you who are interested the link to the policy link is below

Since I have SAMBA, which is a federal insurance provider, and SAMBA utilizes Cigna as their service provider,  I will most likely have to go the self-pay route.  I was hoping that they would have allowed the VSG under the new revision and had been waiting to hear.

Thank you so much for this! I had been calling (since I have CIGNA) and they kept giving me the link to the old one.

Is this Cignas policy for a certain state or is this their policy for all states?

Does this apply to me if I live in California?

I have Cigna and Live in SC. I was told that they started accepting the coverage here last week. I am so excited that they did.
