Insurance wont pay for Hietal Hernia!

Hello,

I am about to be banded tomorrow and upon my inquiry my insurance company I have found out that my insurance will only pay for 50% of the hietal hernia surgery.  This is because my insurance states they will only pay for 50% of the second prosedure when there is more than one procedure occuring during an operation.  They will pay 100% for the lap band.

I am thinking of telling my surgeon not to do the hernia because I am not having symptoms.  The symptoms only occur when I am not eating healthy and when I was at my highest weight.  I have lost 25 lbs so far.

Any opinions or insight as to what I should do?
