BCBS of New Jersey--Approved

I found out today I'm approved!  It was a ten month process but worth the long wait.

Congratulations!!! I'm still working on approval from BCBS of NJ (Hate that consecutive six month requirement!!!) You are using Dr. Garth Davis and BCBS of NJ is covering it? Just wondering since I believe he is out of state.

You can go out of state. When I started the process, I had BCBS of NJ because my company's corporate office was in NJ, but my office is in VA. My Maryland surgeon was in-network.

My husband's company headquarters are in New Jersey but I live in Texas.

Word of warning--- I waited nine weeks for approval.  They are notoriously slow and will not give you any info over the phone until after 45 days.  It sucks!

Thanks for the info. I think their should be more regulation regarding WLS. It is ridiculous how the criteria varies so much from one company to the next and even more so ...from one policy to the next!!
