Going Crazy with Tricare North

I am less then a week away from my surgery, and I STILL have no approval. They keep telling me different things. It is really annoying!! I am 5'4" and currently at 296. I have PCOS, a small form of sleep apnea, and high BP and they still haven't approvede me. I have jumped through hoops for them. Any one else have probs with Tricare? I have been calling them twice a day with no answer. What do I do?

I have Tricare North, and had no issue with them.  When you call what do they say to you? When was your paperwork submitted?

I would call and ask for a supervisor and explain that the surgery has already been schedule, and you are in need of the decision.  The other thing that could have save you some heart ache is that when the paperwork was submitted, that the surgeons office should have checked the urgent box, which requires an answer within 72 hours.

I wish I had more information on what to do, but at this time you are at the mercy of Tricare.

They did not mark "urgent". I do know that much. They got the paperwork on Monday, so they say they have til next monday. I am on hold waiting for a case manager as I type this. I am just very worried. Don't know what to do. And PRAYING that they approve me.

I can actually feel your pain. After reading your post on the main board, I decided I might need to call and check on things myself. I found out that my surgeons sect. just submitted my paper work yesterday and its pending as of today. She did however manage to check the urgent box and they have till monday to answer. My surgery is set for wed the 13th. I thought she had submitted it last wed.. Go figure! Have you found anything out by taling to a case manager? Please let me know.

ps. I have tricare north also

i didnt have tri north I had triwest and i was approved in 24 hours, it was the surgeons office that delayed me the most. I don't have any other advice for you other than what has been given and to just stay on top of them. Good Luck
