cost of surgery

Hi-
I am trying to figure out how  much out of pocket I may have to pay for this surgery.
My insurance only pays up to 15,000 lifetime maximum for bariatric surgery, and it is an 80/20 plan. I have no deductible, so right away I pay 20% of costs. My surgeron requires a $2500 out of pocket up front, which is my max annual out of pocket copay...If I pay anything over that, then I will be reimbursed. Anyone else's insurance do this?
I can't afford $2500 right out of pocket, and I dont want to put it on a creditcard for fear of not being reimbursed..I am so discouraged right now

I had to pay $1,500 which was my maximum out of pocket, which was all used up on the pre-op labs, testing, etc. so I had already paid that before surgery. My surgeon's office only requied $100 up front.  May be you should try a different surgeon who doesn't require $2,500 up front.
