My husband just got a new job and I live in California.  He has a choice of United Health Care PPO, Kaiser HMO, and PacifiCare Signature value HMO. I want to only get the VSG surgery.
I read the benefits for United Health Care PPO and it said no obesity surgery.  It is an exclusion for all obesity surgey.

Can somone let me know if you have any of these insurance?
Also if anyone got approved?
thank you

You had better check the benefits book for the other plans...if the employer has excluded it from 1 plan, there is a good chance it is excluded from all plans.  Also, while it is becoming a more accepted surgery, at this time, the majority of insurance companies view VSG as still being experimental and will not cover it.

Good luck!

I have the same insurance and same exclusion.  However there is definate difference in the diagnosis of obesity and morbid obesity.  Even though it may be a technicallity it may be enough to get you what you need.
never settle for less than you deserve and you deserve only the best.
