AETNA QPOS please help me !

I've seen 2 surgeons in ref to WLS the 1st advised me i only needed 3 months documented weight loss so i did that program with him since i had done weigh****chers previous to seeing him. The 2nd surgeon i'm with won't submit the paperwork to my insurance company becuz he says i need 6 months documented weight loss...i advised him that i've done weigh****chers but the only thing i have to prove it is my cancelled check.  I NEED TO KNOW DO I NEED THE 3 MONTHS OR 6 MONTHS TO GET APPROVAL PLEASE SOMEONE IN PLEASE SOMEONE IN PLAIN ENGLISH FOR ME!!! help

Weigh****chers doesn't count, but Aetna does have a 3 month regimen you can do. PM me your email address and i'll send you the step-by-step list of what I did, along with copies of the letters we submitted to Aetna.

i'm sorry but i'm not sure what PM is but my email addr is [email protected] I've done the 3 month multidisciplinary program with the old surgeon, this new surgeon and his staff just dont have things correct and its driving me crazy.......

I'm going to send you a list of what I've got, but i have a question for  you. Is this surgeon in network? If so, take him a copy of the CPB and show him the criteria and requirements for bariatric surgery. I don't know why he want's you do do things that are not required by Aetna. Maybe he doesn't really know what they want. Perhaps his insurance coordinator can review this with him?

Rosie, I have Aetna as well and would love a copy of the step by step list and copies of your letters.........The three month plan - is that something anyone can do?  I thought it had to be 6 mos with Aetna?  My PM is  [email protected]  .      If you would rather I send this to you at an email address just say the word!

Hi, Jill. Thanks so much! I'm telling you, this surgery is the best thing I have ever done for myself. :)

Aetna members can do either a 3 month regimen or a 6 month one. The 3 month one was pretty easy for me to do. I've just sent you the steps that I completed, as well as the letters that I drafted for my PCP to sign and submit. If you have any questions, please let me know. :)
